Audit Log — Activity History in Your Practice

An audit log is a system that automatically records every action that takes place in your practice. Who did what, and when — all of this information is stored in a form that cannot be altered. This matters for both security and accountability.

The GateDent audit module tracks every action in your practice: changes to patient records, treatment notes, financial transactions, user logins, and more. Each entry is stored together with the date, time, username, and the details of the action.

The audit log is invaluable, especially in disputed situations. In the event of a patient complaint, a financial discrepancy, or data loss, you can review the audit log and see the full picture of what happened. This protects you as the practitioner from legal risk.

From a security standpoint, audit logs are read-only — no one can alter or delete past entries. GateDent stores this data in encrypted form and grants access only at the administrator level.
