Porcelain-fused-to-metal crowns are a classic option that has been used for many years. The metal substructure provides strength, while the porcelain layer delivers an esthetic appearance. Their price is lower than zirconia, but over time a metal line may become visible at the gum line.

E-max (lithium disilicate) crowns deliver the highest esthetic result. They are especially recommended for anterior teeth. Their light transmission is very close to that of a natural tooth.
