Orthodontics — Braces and Invisalign
Orthodontics is the dental specialty concerned with moving teeth and jaws into their correct positions. Crooked teeth, jaw misalignment, gaps between teeth — all of these problems can be addressed with orthodontic treatment.
Metal braces are the most classic and effective orthodontic treatment method. Small metal brackets bonded to each tooth are connected by an archwire that gradually moves the teeth into their correct position. Treatment typically lasts 12–24 months. Ceramic braces work on the same principle but, being close to the color of the teeth, are far less noticeable.
Invisalign (clear aligners) has become very popular in recent years. The removable clear aligners are changed every 2 weeks. It is the superior choice from an aesthetic standpoint, though in complex cases braces can be more effective.
In the GateDent software, the orthodontic treatment process can be tracked in full. The adjustments made at each visit are recorded, the next visit is scheduled, and treatment progress is displayed visually. This tracking is especially important in long-term treatments.
